Plastic surgery before and after picture

My social and political topic is Plastic surgery.

  1. A lot of young girls seem to want plastic surgery to make themselves look more like their celebrity idols. It just seems so wrong. I mean has anyone seen what Michael Jackson did to himself? He gone from black to white with plastic surgery and now there are rumors about him and his failing body. (that was from a while ago) To me I think Plastic Surgey should be for those that actually need it, like those whose been in horrible fires and left with permanent scarring.

  2. In my opinion, people have a right to live their lives as they want; this also includes what they do with and to their bodies. In contrary to for example smoking cigarettes, plastic surgery does not hurt other people, it might “only” be harmful to the person who decides to get rid of some body fat, to add some more bust, to correct something that does not meet the “norm”... The only thing I don’t understand is why people - once started transforming their bodies - cannot stop. There are so many examples where especially women look so atrocious after the 100th-and surgery: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_FEuV_1Js65M/R98rgkw9ZdI/AAAAAAAAAK4/A5-3DsnV6as/s1600/record_plastic_surgery_01.jpg

  3. In my opinion, this whole Plastic Surgery issue can have a bad effect on others. Just like smoking, drinking and drug taking. When someones friend smokes at a party, or drinks or takes drugs, it encourages others to do so aswell, and is looked upon as the cool thing to do . I believe Plastic Surgery has the same or simliar effect on others. Girls are always up-sizing their breasts to have 'Dolly Partons', having liposuction to look as skinny as the celebrities they see on TV. It's ridiculous, 'plastic surgery seems to be the new Alcoholic Beverage'.
I agree with you Jasmine Plastic Surgery should only be for the people who medically require it. People should just accept themselves as who they are and be normal.

  4. Hi there. I personally feel that many women are undergoing plastic surgery these days not only to fix their outward appearance, but also to fulfill their inner dissatisfaction. Many women who suffer from low self-esteem or feel that they are inadequate turn to plastic surgery in order to 'fix' the outside when really it is the inside that is hurting. They are often satisfied for a short time after a plastic surgery fix but before long are wanting more, believing that just one more fix will change everything. This is why plastic surgery can become addictive. The happiness experienced after plastic surgery is only short term because it does not fix the real problem which is an unhappiness with one's life. One can become so addicted to plastic surgery to the extent that they eventually end up looking like a plastic doll and throughout the whole experience have never managed to fill their inner void. But these people truly believe that after just one more surgery everything will be okay. But it doesn't work like this. There are many people who fit the world's idea of 'beautiful' but inside are really unhappy. However, there are also those who do not fit the world's definition of 'beautiful' yet are content. I personally feel that instead of turning to plastic surgery these women should work on what is really causing their unhappiness. I'm not saying that everybody who undergoes plastic surgery is going to become addicted but I do think that this is definitely an issue when it comes to plastic surgery. What are your thoughts?

  5. Well... I think too much of something is as bad as too little. What the woman done on the picture was too much. My idea is a bit different from all of you. I have some friend who done plastic surgery. Some of them said to me that they feel more confidence on everything after they plastic surgery. For example, before they done the surgery, their personality was unstable. But amalizingly, after the surgery they walk with majestic. I belive the plastic surgery changed the personality of people.

  6. I agree with what Summer said about Plastic Surgery can be addicting like smoking and drinking. As for Natalie I think what you said about people fixing their outside while their insides truley in pain is quite true. Irene what you said about Plastic Surgery changing their personality in a way is quite true. Have a look at a programme called "The Swan" it talks abotu what you mentioned.

  7. Think of the following: Girls paint their fingernails, put on make-up - what’s the difference to plastic surgery? (I exaggerate…) Of course, you cannot die from make-up but you can die of narcosis when doing a liposuction. In my opinion, plastic surgery is perfectly fine as long you don’t become addictive and take it too far. I cannot say where the limits are - but why don’t use surgery to feel better? Like Irene said, it can strengthen one’s self-confidence. Of course, it depends on the “physical problem”. Moreover, the law should allow such surgeries only from the age of 18. – If the two faces on the picture really belong to one and the same person, I don’t think that the women did too much. Irene, may I ask you what in your opinion is “too much”?

  8. If you take a really close look at that picture, it doesn't actually look like she's had surgery at all. It looks like on the left she;'s having a really bad hair day and is a bit hung over and on the right she's having a great day and feeling great? Perhaps I've just stated her happiness? She looks much happier on the right, maybe the whole "plastic surgery" idea brings more happiness to these people's lives? Short-term, long-term? I couldn't tell ya.

  9. Can people die while under going plastic surgery? Suppose it can be used to boost one's self-confidence but i'm sure there are other methods of boosting your inner self confidence.

  10. I believe in free choice and all of that as someone mentioned but I feel that there are just too many choices avaliable. People have the right to do whatever they like to their bodies you have to wonder how aware they are of the effects and side effects of the surgery they are undergoing.

Blogs going well. I like the picture demonstrating your issue and concerns.

  11. I think that plastic surgery is alright, i guess if it's their choice to harm or change their bodies let them do it. We don't have to live our lives hoping that there will be no long term affects of plastic surgery, but, i think that plastic surgery can be a bit too adictive for some people. If they feel that it would boost their self confidence i say "why not?"
